PUB – Public use of Bicycles general information

Article by Ryan

Bicycles are not usually thought of as a form of public transport, but the concept has been challenged successfully in the world in the public use of bicycles (pubs). The introduction of the smart card in the pub concept was created on “Smart Honda and the bike path to becoming a city REVOLUTIONARY public transport system in the world. Paper that will explain the publication concept, consider a pub, and talk of current and planned implementation of the Smart Honda.

What is a pub and How Does It Work? The basic premise of the publication is the concept of sustainable transport. Publication is ideal for urban transport, due to its advantages in other types of public transport, as are the following:

– Provides in transport demand,- Arrive at destination is not accessible transit- Requires less than the other mode of transportation infrastructure,- Is it cheaper to produce and maintain,- Do not add to congestion, – do not create pollution,- Reduce the theft of personal bicycles, and- Provide users with the added benefit of exercise.

Some other mode of transportation offers many or all of these benefits. A pub is a bike that can be used to meet their transportation needs in an environmentally sound manner. One is to use a pub to get to their destination, and then leave the publication at that location for another use. The theory is that a few hundreds or thousands of pubs in the street, there should always be a publication available for use.

Three generations of pubs, with four current generated. To better understand the third and fourth generation of pubs, which is better known as Smart bike, it is important to understand how the concept of pub come. Probably 50 cities around the world in the bars. Most of these programs exist in Europe, including some of North America, and some in Asia. The program is known to the pub under different aliases, such as “the city of bicycles”, “free bike” and under a rainbow of colors is painted, “White Bicycles”, “Yellow Bikes”, “Red Bicycle “, etc..First generation of pubs

The pub concept started in 1968 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as a progressive ideology of a period. Cricket Schimmelpennink with the government of the city of Amsterdam launched the “White Honda pub program placement of a small number of pubs in the city.

The bars then distributed throughout the city and always clean and cheap transport. Unfortunately, the program is abused. Pubs are not left on sidewalks, but taken at her home for private use or thrown in many canals of Amsterdam. More than a decade later, a similar program launched in Milan, Italy, with 1,000 pubs, but not when none of the pubs will be returned to the streets after a short period of use.

First generation of pubs

First generation of pubs, like the Dutch program, usually given the massive use of the bicycle market, which is all painted in a color to the output of other bikes. There is no place where pubs must be returned, so one can find a license or being anywhere on the road. The program type of publication often feel free to the user. A group of communities, sometimes with financial support from local government, will help pub program.

In the United States as the summer of 2001, has about 25 of the first generation pub program. American cities in the first generation include pubs Portland, OR; Minneapolis / St Paul, MN, Boulder, CO; Princeton, Quezon City, and others. The first generation of American pubs are a success, however, the bars are stolen big problems. While the first generation of pub program is the least expensive to run because most of the materials and time are donated, is the least reliable for people who want to use a pub because it is confident to find a location. In addition, no built-in security features to prevent the theft of people in the pub. The need for improvements led to the second-generation pub.

Second generation of pubs

Designer of the second generation of pubs learned from their experiences and created a publishing program that is more reliable and less likely stolen. This time, specially designed pubs are made. The bars are designed to be utilitarian and require less maintenance than the previous pub. Including pubs, special racks are designed to bars and are eliminated. The racks are strategically placed at train and bus stops, multi-storey housing complexes, shopping districts, attractions and other places that receive a large volume of foot traffic. The racks took the randomness of the search for a pub.

To ensure the pubs are returned to the racks, a coin-operated locking mechanism is attached to the center of the handlebar. To use a pub, is a refundable deposit insert a coin to unlock the device from the rack. The coin has a large deposit that is sufficient to entice users to return to the publication to another special designed rack and locking that the deposit is returned.

The maximum amount of coins in the country serve as a reservoir for the device, ranging from $ 1 – $ 3, however, for different countries. To ensure a publication that will be readily available for use, is crucial to concentrate the bars within a specified limit. The border with the central business district of the city and near dense neighborhoods. Second generation of pubs are more expensive than their predecessors were, so a nonprofit organization that was created to help the publication from time to time program. In most cases, the local government is to help organizations with funds. Additional funding was provided by advertising, which may appear on the disc wheels in the bar and screen.

The first launch of the second generation of the program published in 1995 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Niels and his father, Wilhelm Christiansen, co-designer of the Danish publication, with the city government of Copenhagen, and the Honda Foundation of the City of Copenhagen published in 1100 placed the entire city. The pub is very popular and quite successful.Politiken, A major daily newspaper in Copenhagen, followed by a pub for 12 hours and found only eight minutes not in use. The Danish publication is the longest running pub program is working now.

The second generation of the pubs are more reliable than previous generations. First, because the bikes are specially designed to be more durable and therefore requires less maintenance. Secondly, individuals learned the location of the publication racks, to get a pub became more reliable. However, even with these improvements, the tracking of stolen bars is almost impossible, as theft remains a major problem in Copenhagen and similar programs pub.

How to Run A Restaurant – Restaurant Business

Article by Massimo Montone

Time management for restaurant operators

You like everybody else have a “to do” list that is very long. I will show you how to prioritize what’s important for your business and as result get more benefits from it.

What you want is to function well, whether you are under pressure or not. Therefore, your concentration must be on results in order to limit your stress.

By the way – forget you are busy.

You probably have heard of the Pareto Principle, or the “80:20 Rule.” Typically, 80% of unfocussed effort generates 20% of results. So the remaining 80% of results are achieved with only 20% of the effort.

Even if the ratio is not always 80:20, this pattern recurs so frequently that it is the norm in many situations.

I am sure, you run out of time on a daily basis, weekly and monthly. We simply do not have enough time in order to do everything we would like to do.

Managing your time means control. You need to choose what to work on and when, but in order to do that you must have a system that works for you.

How to get the best out of your time:

* Goal setting.* Prioritizing.* Procrastination.

Goal setting

Sometimes restaurant managers or owners do not set specific goals. Do not let this happen to you.

The benefits of goal setting are:

* Sense of awareness.* Responsibility.* Defines actions.* Makes you set priorities.* Gives you a roadmap.* Guides decision making.* Exposes your strengths.* Betters your self image. * Results in a sense of achievement. * Helps you to visualize.

Excuses for not setting goals

* Waiting for a miracle.* Will take too much time.* Conditioning.* Fear of success.* Predictability.* Fear of losing.

It is said that people give up on goals before they have even started. Do not let it happen to you.

Coffee Bar

Article by Edythe White

A coffee bar is something familiar to most. A familiar and small place, like a restaurant, although not as spacious and with a menu not themed like Chinese or Italian food. In coffee bars you will find the familiar drinks and snacks, but not so much liquor. It is a hangout, an informal meeting place, with an ambience that encourages customers to kick and unwind their tired minds, or simply, with favorite hot beverage being sipped, relax. In other countries, coffee bars have expanded their menu offerings, and even serve alcohol; in this instance, they are closer to restaurants. Coffee bars tend to function as hubs of socialization. Cafes provide the area, a meeting area, with the surrounding environment designed for convivial talk and passing of the time without pressure, allowing people to spend time alone or with others, and this with the opportunity to enjoy snacks and beverages. In America and the UK, a cafe–which is Spanish for ‘coffee‘–is just a small restaurant. Cafe styles differ; some offer a range of baked pastries and goods, or sandwiches, and others wow you with their full range of menu offerings. Alcoholic drinks may be sold in American coffee bars, depending on their license; and coffee served there might also be incidental to the food served. In Britain, however, cafes simply do not have alcohol among their offerings. Coffee bars tend to offer open and public space, this, compared to the allegiances and customer bases of alcohol-driven pubs dominated by men. Many complain that traditional, orthodox, local venues tend to be edged out or pushed away by big business and their allegedly tasteless cafes. The culprit are practices such as those of Starbucks, which some complained to immediately saturate a given area, driving beastly corporate profits through the ceiling, while plunging low the profits of smaller establishments. The Internet cafe, born in the 1990s, demonstrates the first intended use of thecoffee bar, which was to provide a place for networking, information swapping, and talking. The rise and surge in popularity of cafes in their modern styles in various areas comes in tandem with the rise of computer access. The quick spread of cafes to various areas, both rural and even urban, comes in tandem with PCs (computers). PCs offering Internet access are now a staple in cafes all over; connectedness and cyber presence tend to be the in thing among the young and the young professionals. PCs in cafe build a modern, forward-looking, youthful and cozy venue; and this is the ambience of the “now” compared to the traditional, orthodox pubs and ageing diners being replaced.

Article by Anthony Churchill

Rutland, the smallest county in England, is full of tradition and heavy with culture. Rutland is the oldest of all of England’s counties, and is often called the hidden jewel of England. Part of the history of England that still lives on is that of the Rutland Pubs.

Pubs, or public houses, are something that is unique to England. A pub serves alcohol, sometimes provides public function rooms and accommodation, and generally serves some kind of meals. The pub has often served as the meeting place of small towns, a place where people would meet, get together and spend time, drinking, eating and enjoying each other?s company.

The current Rutland Pubs are no different. They still serve ale, sometimes home brewed or micro brews, and frequently serve locally grown foods. The Rutland area is home to excellent beef, pork and lamb producers, which makes it easy to find excellent high-quality meats. Plus there are also several regional breweries, some of which have won awards for their beers and ales.

Rutland Pubs also carry on the tradition of hospitality. In the past, everyone has been welcome at the pub, and so it is now. When tourists and visitors find the hidden jewel that is the county of Rutland, they can take a break and enjoy the pubs. They can experience the fresh, locally grown vegetables and meats, and the hospitality of the local people.

If you are looking for something to do that’s off the beaten path, you should check out Rutland. It’s in the East Midlands, which means it is easily accessible, and a great place to take a break. Rutland is still beautiful in a way that England used to be a hundred years ago. It’s filled with small villages and market towns. There are several farmers’ markets, so that you can find your own local produce and locally manufactured goods for you to take home. You could stay at one of the many local campgrounds, and enjoy the beautiful countryside. And don’t forget when visiting Rutland, to stop and enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many local Rutland Pubs.

The Best Sports Bars in London

Article by Dylan Franks

I made the splash over the pond last year, moving from my beloved New York City to London. I have always had a special place for London in my heart and when the opportunity came to work in London I could not turn it down.

There are many things that I looked forward to exploring in London, and of course all the museums and famous landmarks were high up on the list but finding a good sports bar in London was certainly the main priority. I am a huge sports fan, I love my American sports, including American Football and Baseball, and so a sport bar in London that showed American sports was essential. I was also keen to embrace the British sports on offer, I was determined to give Cricket a go, and have always followed the English premier league.

After digging around on the internet it became clear that there were plenty of options for sports bars in London. The most famous and prominent one I came across appeared to be The Sports Caf? in Haymarket. I spoke to a few Londoner?s and it definitely came recommended so I thought I would try it out first for American Football. The New England Patriots were playing the New York Jets, quite a fierce rivalry, so this was a perfect game to watch in a bar for the atmosphere. Sure enough the Sports Café was showing this on the big screen and boy was I impressed with this sports bar. There are TV screens dotted all over the bar, the décor is dedicated to sports, even with a model F1 car, so you walk in knowing that if there is a big sports event on then this London bar sure will have it showing. There were lots of American Football fans there watching the game and it was great to have table service where we could sit down, enjoy the game and order plenty of beer and a bit of food. The menu is classic American, so lots of Burgers, sandwiches and Chicken wings! After talking to the staff here I also determined that this was truly a 24/7 sports bar as they show live sports all through the night if there is a big game on. For example Cricket fans flock here for the Ashes games between England and Australia so if you are out partying on want to finish the night off in London with sports then this is the place to go.

After the sports bar I was after something a bit more local and authentic as it was definitely more of an American style sports bar. I spoke to a few work colleagues and discovered there were plenty of traditional London pubs showing sports. The best by far that I came across was The Three Kings in Kensington. This is another dedicated sports bar in London but its set in a huge pub with dedicated zones depending on what game is on, so you might have a bunch of rugby fans crammed in the front room cheering on their team, and then a load of football fans in another area watching the multiple screens. The atmosphere is electric in here with plenty of singing and has fast become one of my favourite bars in London to watch sport.

A few great sports bars in London include the Jetlag bar in central London which has comfy sofas and a nice relaxed atmosphere for watching the games. I also really like The Roxy in London Bridge which doubles up as a cinema in the evenings so this a pretty cool place to watch the Rugby in particular. If you want lively atmosphere then The Clapham Grand Clapham is a fantastic setting as it?s an old theatre so you can sit back with over 1,200 people and watch on one of the biggest sports screens I have ever seen!

As you can see there are plenty of options for London sports bars so I hope you enjoy some of these.
